SFA at war as they make McLeish move

The board of the SFA are split over an approach to Alex McLeish to take over as Scotland manager.
In a move that is believed to be being pushed by Rod Petrie, contact has been made with the man who picked up a £1.7 EBT payment while helping to cheat every club in the country.
According to a report in The Sun McLeish has been approached to discuss the job after four months of touting himself after the sacking of Gordon Strachan.
With Stewart Regan gone the Board have got some leeway to explain the delay but it seems that some Board members are well aware of how toxic the former Ibrox boss is. As well as leading Rangers (IL) through the most concentrated period of cheating that the Scottish game has ever known McLeish walked out on Scotland in 2007 to manage Birmingham City.
A year ago McLeish threw his hat into the ring to replace Mark Warburton but despite his desperation for the job he lost out to Pedro Caixinha.
Installing the 59-year-old as Scotland boss would severly restrict the options available to the SFA as they attempt to find a new chief executive.
