The Dons’ new arrivals: How they’ve fared so far

As part of our mid-term focus, we take a look at some of the newest additions to the Dons squad – and how they’ve got on so far.
KARI ARNASON

A fans? favourite from his first spell, Arnason had a sluggish start, perhaps due to his lack of game time at Omonia Nikosia but the Iceland international is now up and running and his experience alongside the emerging Scott McKenna has been crucial. He has also made positive comments about extending his stay at the Dons.
NICKY MAYNARD
Dons manager Derek McInnes with Nicky Maynard.
He has yet to get off the mark for the Dons in what has been a disappointing move so far. Maynard is third in the attacking pecking order behind Stevie May and Adam Rooney and manager Derek McInnes will be hoping a goal can lift the spirits and get the former MK Dons striker going in 2018.
GREG TANSEY

A key player at Inverness, Tansey?s contribution at Pittodrie has been limited by a groin injury. His range of passing was a feature of his Caley Thistle tenure but his Dons career has been stop-start thus far and the player himself will be hoping his loan spell with Ross County can spark his form. His move to Pittodrie has been disappointing and a fresh start at Ross County may suit all parties. GARY MACKAY-STEVEN

When?s he good, he?s very good, as he showed in scoring a hat-trick against Hibernian just before the break. Consistency Mackay-Steven?s biggest challenge but if he can find it he can be a key performer in the second half of the season.
DOMINIC BALL

The loan signing from Rotherham United has offered cover in defence and midfield. The former Rangers player?s versatility makes him a solid addition but has also worked against him as he has struggled to force his way into the team on a regular basis. He remains a solid and dependable option.
STEVIE MAY
Stevie May
The former St Johnstone striker was the big-name signing from Preston and his ability to link the play and go it alone up front has given Adam Rooney competition. Injury curtailed his end to 2017 but he will be hoping the break can help him get back to 100%.
RYAN CHRISTIE

The standout player at Aberdeen this season. Scores goals and creates them and it?s not hard to see why Derek McInnes wanted him back on loan from Celtic. Dons fans would love to see his loan move become a permanent one in 2018 and you can be sure McInnes wants that, too.
